12 notes

12 notes in an octave can say a lot about life

Over the weekend I saw the movie, ‘A Star is Born’.

There was one piece of dialogue that particularly caught my attention:

“Music is essentially twelve notes between any octave. Twelve notes and the octave repeats. It’s the same story told over and over. All any artist can offer the world is how they see those twelve notes.”

Brilliant.

And true.

We are all just experiencing 12 notes between any octave over and over again in all of its wonderful and sometimes messy combinations.

Same source for every note.

From these 12 notes we experience

our stories

our hardships

our loves

our losses

our victories

our challenges

our wisdom.

All of it comes to us

through us

and is experienced as life in the moment.

Over and over again

one note at a time

one thought at a time.

That’s just how it works.

For all of us.
