Insights

what they can mean for your life

Insights.

Those lovely little realizations that can instantly transform a life.

They often come to us out of nowhere.

Perhaps they reside in the ether...unprovoked and unexpected...but always ready to reveal themselves.

Most often they appear when our minds are settled and clear.

In such a state, we are more open and available to receive 'fresh new thought'.

How many times, for example, have you been in the shower or on a walk or on vacation when suddenly you receive an insight into a 'problem' that no amount of thinking or problem-solving had heretofore resolved?

Such is the nature of insight.

Recently, one of my clients described an experience she had while watching some children play in the street.

As she stood there, she found herself entranced by their laughter. She was relaxed and happy in the exuberant energy of the moment.

Suddenly, as if receiving a download, she recalled a series of childhood memories which, when seen together, revealed a profound new understanding about her life.

With this one insight, she was, in effect, able to connect the dots backwards in time to a life-changing decision that set the course for the rest of her life.

She saw how this one decision led her on a course of restraint and limitation and loneliness.

During our conversation, she came to realize that such a decision made perfect sense...in that moment...for that child.

During our conversation, she came to realize that such a decision allowed her to safely navigate her childhood.

During our conversation, she came to realize that such a decision permitted her to carry on.

Her new insight, however, enabled her to recognize that such a decision no longer served its' once useful purpose.

In a moment of clarity and a flash of insight,

this young woman realized that her pattern of thought and pattern of behavior was no longer necessary or needed.

In a moment of clarity and a flash of insight,

this young woman became free of her self-imposed restraint and limitation and loneliness.

She recognized the wisdom of her decision all those years ago...

just as she now recognized the wisdom of her new insight.

And as we talked, she marveled at the beauty of a system perfectly designed to ensure a return to our innate well being and success over and over again.

When we listen with a settled mind and an open heart, we are able to hear and receive the fresh whispers of wisdom guiding us along our way.

It just takes one new thought...

one new insight...

to change a life for the better.
